Stingray families, 

Your swimmers are crushing it in the pool! Now that we are halfway through the season, I hope that you have been able to see the increase in their skill levels and confidence in the water. You may have noticed that meets have moved from being unorganized chaos to highly organized chaos! Thank you for being so willing to step up and volunteer to make these meets a successful experience for your swimmers.

On the team Schedule page, meet declaration is now open for our league championship meet. This is an optional meet and has no time qualifications, so if your swimmers are interested in participating, please make sure to declare their attendance intent. It is also helpful for the coaches to know if you know you will not be attending, so they would greatly appreciate any declarations to that effect as well. 

Some things to know about this meet:

• It is a divisional meet for swimmers on all teams in our area, held at the GA Tech recreation center. This pool was originally the site of the 1996 Olympic swimming events. 
• Our session this year will be held in the afternoon on Friday, June 30.
• Meet entries are due by Friday, June 23. We will close meet declaration on Thursday, June 22. This deadline is set by the league to allow time to seed the events and late entries will not be allowed. Entry fees are $45 per swimmer.
• Each swimmer is allowed to choose 2 of their own individual events. This option is provided during meet declaration. Your swimmer is welcome to ask their coaches' opinion if they are unsure which events they would like to swim. 
• If we have enough swimmer attendance in a given age group, the coaches will also put together relays for the swimmers. You may indicate your swimmers' relay preference during meet declaration, as well.
• Our team volunteer assignments are determined based on the number of swimmers attending the meet, and will be available for signup closer to the end of the month.

This is an exciting event and a great opportunity for summer swimmers to experience a large, multi-team meet at an amazing pool. If your swimmers have been loving this season, I highly recommend taking advantage of the opportunity to participate.
