AWAY meet at Saddle Creek - Thursday 6/15
June 14th
Stingray families,
Your swimmers did an amazing job last week - way to dig deep and turn things around to finish with a win! This week is an away meet and we will be swimming against the Saddle Creek Dolphins (495 Saddle Creek Dr, Roswell). Parking is limited, so you are welcome to drop your swimmers off at the clubhouse before parking on the street and walking back - please follow all the posted parking signs and remember to park only on one side of the street.
- Our bullpens will be located in the parking lot in front of the clubhouse on the right hand side. Because of all the rain, playing in the grassy spaces is likely not a great choice. You may like to send a card game or other activity that can be enjoyed in the bullpen tents between races.
- Get comfy and wear your comfiest pajamas for the night! As with the WWS pool, much of the regular deck furniture is stacked to provide deck space for the meet. Don't forget to bring a folding chair if you feel you will need a place to sit.
- Plan to arrive by 4:30 to give your swimmers time to double check their event entries and get settled before warmups.
- Today was pretty soggy and it looks like the rain will continue tomorrow. Please remember that we show up for the meet regardless of the weather and any decisions about inclement weather are made by the head coaches, team reps, and the official if necessary. Make sure to enable Swimtopia notifications in case we need to send last minute updates to you before & during the meet.
- On a related note, the ASA allows teams to hold their meets virtually if they are unable to complete them due to weather constraints. If we cannot hold the meet as planned, we will relay more details to you at that time. This will likely look like a time trials style practice on Friday or Monday morning to complete the events as entered.
- There will be a cash or credit concession stand offering hot dogs pizza, and other goodies.
- Thanks to everyone who signed up for their volunteer positions early - we currently have all but 1 position for the meet filled. Being a smaller team can make it challenging to fill the necessary positions needed to run a meet and we are so thankful for all the work you put in to make our meets successful. If you have not signed up for a spot, please consider helping out in the bullpens tomorrow - this is such a vital role for making sure no one misses their races. Don't forget to check in with our Volunteer Coordinator, Lauren Nickell, when you arrive at the meet and to check out with her - returning any associated equipment - when your shift is completed.
