WWS HOME meet vs Brookfield CC Thursday 6/23

Stingray families,

THANK YOU for your patience, flexibility, and perseverance at last week's meet. There are so many moving parts to make a meet work and weather delays can wreak havoc on the best laid plans. You all did an amazing job of rolling with the punches and we were so excited to see a win come out of it all. The coaches have chosen a patriotic theme for tomorrow, so break out the stars and stripes to show your team spirit this week!

We are still short on our volunteer list for this meet! As of this evening, there are about 2 spots left to be filled. If you haven't signed up for volunteer positions yet, please take a moment to do so! If you have questions about what positions may be suitable for you, feel free to get in touch with me or our Volunteer Coordinator, Molly Holbert.

Since we are at home, the pool will close to neighborhood swimmers at 4:00, and we would welcome your help with all the extra deck set up for which we are responsible - this is not an assigned position, but if we have a few people pitching in before and after the meet, it is not a hard or lengthy job as a group. Also, as the home team, our warm ups will begin promptly at 4:30, so please make sure your swimmers are dressed and waiting for the coaches to call for warm up groups at that time. The bullpens will be located against the fences by the baby pool - please remind your swimmers that the baby pool is not open for playing in during a meet.

Our visiting team sets up their bullpen tents in the clubhouse parking lot, so plan to park on the street (sidewalk side only, away from the curb-painted emergency vehicle access space in front of the clubhouse and tennis courts, not in the grass) and walk to the clubhouse.  There are numerous scheduled and makeup tennis matches being held on Thursday, so that parking lot will also be roped off and reserved for tennis players only.

Your swimmers did a great job of following directions last time, so just a brief reminder that the stairwell/upstairs areas of the clubhouse are not for use during a meet except for those scheduled to work the announcer's or computer table. If swimmers have a parent working in the clubhouse they are welcome to come to speak with them/ask questions, but should focus on spending most of their time on the pool deck with the rest of the team if possible.

Finally, Cristina Reeks and Jessica Shellhouse have organized our concession stand for the week and it looks like there will be lots of yummy goodies available to keep you from going hungry! Pizza, chips, beverages, candy and snow cones are just a few of the items to choose from - cash and credit will be accepted.

If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know. Entry lists will be posted on the pool gate during practice in the morning and any changes will be printed on colored paper in the bullpens at the meet. Stay cool and we'll see you for a spirited rivalry tomorrow!

Let's Go, Stingrays!
